"Groove Sessions" is the collaboration of a professional DJ with some of the finest musicians Brisbane has to offer. Their performance includes a range of Disco, Latin and House-infused sounds, but incorporates popular music of the 70's, 80's, 90's and today in their sets.

This combination of skilled DJ along with talented artist produce smooth organic rhythms and create a synergy of sound for a magnetic, funk-filled atmosphere. A sublime mix of beautiful vocal tracks, layered with live percussion, saxophone, trumpet or guitar set their performances apart from any other. Groove Sessions' energetic and crowd lifting sets never fail to entertain.

• Q1: What is included in your Wedding Packages?

  Answer: Your BrisCity DJs Wedding Entertainment Package includes: an experienced, professional Wedding DJ, state of the art digital sound equipment including full console, speakers, PA system, Lighting effects, smoke machine (if desired and permissible at the venue) use of the microphone and of course all your music. Your individually customised Wedding Music Playlist will be in accordance with your personal style and pre Wedding directives, designed to meet all the specific requirements of the day.

• Q2: Do you include an MC Service in your Wedding Packages?

  Answer: If you require the DJ to provide an MC service for your Wedding Reception, we can certainly arrange it to be included in your Entertainment package (there is no extra cost to you). As the DJ does not know you personally, the MC service would consist of general announcements and venue house keeping instructions. Naturally we would discuss all the details of this with you prior to the Wedding.

• Q3: Are your prices competitive?

  Answer: Very competitive. Our market research indicates that we are certainly not the cheapest service available (cheap is not always better!) but we are also by no means the most expensive. We firmly believe that our service is great value for money. BrisCity DJs understands how important your Wedding Day is for you and we want you to have peace of mind with your choice in Entertainment on this special occasion. We pride ourselves on offering only experienced professional DJs with top quality equipment and an assurance that you will hear the music that you want to hear on your big day.

• Q4: How can I be sure that BrisCity DJs offers quality Service?

  Answer: BrisCity DJs is a licensed professional company, endorsed by the ABIA (Australian Bridal Industry Academy) and highly regarded within our own Industry. We want your celebration to be a resounding success. Our team is dedicated to providing the highest quality customer service and entertainment to you for your Wedding Day. Each of our DJs has been personally interviewed by our Manager. With a standard set high in regards to their DJing skills, as well as their professionalism, appearance and manner, only the best will do.

• Q5: What is the ABIA and why is it important?

  Answer: The Australian Bridal Industry Academy (ABIA) is a national body, dedicated to raising the standards of all bridal industry suppliers. To become a member of the ABIA, a wedding supplier must have a track record of excellence, as evaluated by their clients (the Bride and Groom). ABIA members must be a registered business, complete with licensing and insurance. Those businesses which “pop up” overnight and may fold overnight, and/or businesses which deliver inferior product or services are ineligible to become ABIA members.

  The ABIA logo, proudly displayed on the BrisCity DJs website, means that you can be confident in the choice you make, when booking one of our DJs to provide a superior entertainment service on your very special day.

• Q6: Can we preselect the music that we want to hear at our Wedding?

  Answer: Absolutely! At BrisCity DJs we understand that every Wedding celebration is unique and we believe the soundtrack to your special day should be as individual as you are. With BrisCity DJs, the music and style of each Wedding is always customised according to the specific needs and wishes of each Bride and Groom. That means we do not have a “standard playlist” for Wedding Receptions. You let us know what you want beforehand (and also what you don’t want) and we will create a unique playlist to perfectly complement your special celebration. You can pick all the songs required for the night or just a handful of favourites – it’s up to you. Alternately, you can simply let us know the demographic of your guests and the general style of music required, then the DJ can use his expertise to read the room and keep the crowd happy with a great mix of songs to suit. That list can give you some ideas for your music selections, but it is just a small sample of our catalogue - you are definitely not limited to choosing only from our sample list. So if you're after something different, you just have to let us know.

• Q7: Can the DJ also take requests on the night?

  Answer: Of course. The DJ will also ensure that song requests from your guests fit in with the rest of your preset music specifications before he includes them in the night’s playlist.

• Q8: What will the DJ be wearing at my Wedding?

  Answer: BrisCity DJs standard dress code for our DJs at a Wedding is formal attire. That means he will be immaculately presented in suit and tie (jacket optional)

• Q9: What time will the DJ arrive at the venue to set up?

  Answer: You can expect the DJ to arrive at your venue approximately 1 hour before the scheduled start time, to liase with your function manager or the appropriate venue staff and complete his set up. If however, your venue has other specific “bump in” or loading requirements, we will need to discuss the details and make alternate arrangements to suit.

• Q10: Do you travel to venues and locations outside of Brisbane?

  Answer: Yes. BrisCity DJs is regularly booked for Weddings on the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and outer Brisbane locations. For those bookings which are outside the greater Brisbane area, there is a travel fee added to the Entertainment package price which covers the extra travel time and petrol expenses.

• Q11: Do we have to meet our DJ before the Wedding?

  Answer: No, you do not have to meet the DJ beforehand. Our guarantee to you, is a DJ who is reliable, experienced, professional, organised and of course, very friendly and personable. He will be immaculately dressed and arrive at the venue well ahead of time to set up equipment and liaise with the appropriate venue staff or function coordinators. In accordance with your specific song selections and pre – wedding directives, you can be sure that your “BrisCity DJs” DJ will be dedicated to providing the highest quality service and entertainment for you.
  If however, you would like to meet the DJ before the Wedding, we can certainly arrange that for you. Once your booking is confirmed and you have completed and returned your BrisCity DJs Wedding Information Form (this form is sent to you on confirmation of your booking to gather any extra details about your reception, your song selections and music requests etc) then the DJ can contact you, if so requested to discuss your playlist over the phone or arrange a meeting in person to go through any other details.

• Q12: Should I book early?

  Answer: Yes. To avoid disappointment please book early.

• Q13: Do I need to pay a deposit when I make a booking?

  Answer: Yes. When you make a booking with BrisCity DJs, we will kindly request a deposit be paid to secure your booking date. Methods of payment for your deposit are 1. Cheque in the mail or 2. Electronic Transfer.

• Q14: Do you offer any other Entertainment services with your DJ packages?

  Answer: Yes we do. BrisCity DJs can also offer an Entertainment package which includes a combination of DJ plus percussion, saxaphone, trumpet or guitar. Please check out our link to “Groove Sessions”.
